Soon after, in 1949, Rich's was the first to
package and sell, Rich's® Whip Topping®, which was whipped topping in an
aerosol can for easy dispensing at home.
To a large degree, Rich's® Whip Topping® non-dairy topping is responsible for
building Rich's into the food industry leader it is today.
In 1954, Rich's introduced the first commercial line of frozen éclairs and
crème puffs; a product the company is still recognized for today.
And in 1961, following months of exhaustive research and development, Coffee
Rich®, the nation's first frozen non-dairy creamer, hit the supermarket
shelves, making Rich's a household name.
International Growth
Sparked by brisk demand for Rich's growing product line, the 1960s and early 1970s were also a period of aggressive corporate expansion beginning with the 1962 construction of a manufacturing plant in Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada (just minutes west of the Buffalo headquarters, over the Canadian/US border), now known as Rich Products of Canada, Limited.
International growth started ramping up in 1994 when the company acquired a manufacturing facility, Productos Rich, in Toluca, Mexico, establishing one of Mexico's first frozen dough-manufacturing operations. |
