Soaked Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • Flour » 236gms
  • Sugar » 236gms
  • Baking powder » 5gms
  • Salt » a pinch
  • Eggs separated » 5nos
  • Vanilla essence » 5ml
  • Butter »236gms
  • Rich’s sweet mate 700gms

Method

  • Cream butter & sugar until light & fluffy, slowly fold in the eggs
  • Gently fold flour, salt & baking powder & in the egg mixture
  • Bake at 180C for 22-25 minutes
  • Remove cake from the oven & using a fork, generously poke holes on top of the cake
  • Pour the Rich’s sweetmate on the hot cake & cover with plastic wrap
  • Refrigerate for at least two hours
  • Serve Cold
